Cocoa Facts in Ivory Coast
Created in July 2005, COVIMA is a group, composed mainly of women, working in the development of the agricultural sector (food crops, coffee-cocoa and cashew nuts), livestock (poultry, pork, etc.) and of the rural world in the Marahoué region. With 3000 member producers and around ten employees, covima is a major player in the agricultural sector in Ivory Coast.
By re-mobilizing producers around agricultural activities and socio-economic projects, Covima members collectively commit to meeting the needs of poor populations living in rural areas of the Marahoué region in Côte d’Ivoire.
